Dragoman Adventure Travel & Family Adventure Holiday
Our family trips have been designed to appeal to children as well as adults, and are open to families with kids and teenagers aged 6 to 18. There is no better way of showing your children the excitement of distant places and other cultures around the world than to head out on the road with them.
Imagine paddling through the Okavango Delta in a dugout canoe, or sledging on a tea tray down a sand dune in the Namib Desert. You might be riding a camel in the Sahara, an African elephant through the forest at Victoria Falls or a rickshaw through the teeming streets of India - whichever trip you choose, you know your kids are getting a holiday with a difference.
Our family trips are designed to combine excitement, relaxation, learning and fun. These are active trips, and an essential element is meeting the local people, whether it is a spontaneous football match with local kids in a Peruvian village, visiting a school in Kenya or buying your lunch from a local fisherman on a Moroccan beach. Experience all the wonders of the world together with your children on an unforgettable holiday with Dragoman.

This family adventure holiday combines the culture of ancient India with the country's wildlife, birdlife and stunning scenery. Family travel must also be about fun, so we have added heaps of activities - riding camels out in the Rajasthan Desert and tiger spotting in Ranthambore National Park, going on rickshaw tours and elephant rides. Overland travel really comes into its own by getting you off the beaten track, and there'll be plenty of chances to meet local people and their families, exploring small villages as well as the towns and cities. Going overland is a brilliant way for a family to enjoy the vibrancy and colours of India.
Arriving in Morocco is like wandering onto a film set - suddenly you are transported to a place where people wear long robes and turbans, where donkeys clop along narrow alleyways and you can wander through exotic bazaars and souks. We'll stay mostly in traditional riads and kasbahs on this trip, with some camping in the desert. There's a trip to Ait Benhaddou, where 'Gladiator' was filmed, a camel ride into the dunes of the Sahara at Erg Chebbi, and the chance to go walking in the Atlas Mountains. We'll also visit the pretty seaside town of Essaouira, with its walled medina where no cars are allowed, before heading back to Marrakech.
There is no more exciting destination for children than Africa, and on this trip we'll discover just why. We visit a giraffe sanctuary, an elephant orphanage, a snake park and the home of Elsa, the lioness in 'Born Free'. There's a safari through Lake Nakuru NP, another in the famously unpronounceable Ngorongoro Crater, and a camping trip with the difference - on the plains of the great Serengeti. We'll ride camels, meet the Maasai, visit a school community project and there's even the option of a hot air balloon ride. After all that activity we head to the beautiful beaches of the Indian Ocean, with time to relax on the island of Zanzibar.
We'll start our adventure at the incredible Victoria Falls, then head to Chobe - famous for its elephants - where we'll take to the water on a boat safari. Travelling deep into the Okavango Delta we stay on a houseboat in the heart of the wilderness before crossing into Namibia to meet the Bushmen, visiting one of their schools and learning how they live. We stop at a cheetah reserve, where orphaned animals are looked after, then visit Swakopmund where for some quad biking and sand boarding. Finally we'll travel through the beautiful Namib Desert to watch the sunrise from the top of a gigantic sand dune.
An exciting new addition to our family trips, Peru has so much to offer. This two week adventure will give you all a real feel for the diversity of Latin America as we travel from the National Parks of the Bellestas Isles right up into the Andes. We will visit the mummies of Chauchilla, have the option to fly over the bizarre Nazca lines, as well as time to relax and explore the beautiful colonial cities of Arequipa and Cusco. As with all of our trips there is plenty of opportunity to become involved within the community, you will visit the reed islands of Lake Titicaca and also overnight on a Quechua homestay. The real highlight for all the family will of course be Machu Picchu and the Sacred valley, where you will learn about the ancient Inca Empire and have time to visit this remarkable 'Lost city'.
